ENG 291 - Magical Realism When a love story filters through the centuries or a man awakens as a giant cockroach (this could happen in Florida); when an owl perches on a window crying sweet warnings or a baron lives his life in the treetops; when a dead baby rises from the grave or the local shopping mall draws us into fairyland–what are we to think? Exploring several works of magical realism, this course offers delightful metaphors, strange dreams, strategies for reading literature, and a whole new way of understanding experience.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 140 or equivalent.
