The interdisciplinary African/African-American Studies minor centralizes, honors, and teaches the importance of the presence and contribution of Africans and their New World descendants in Western culture and society.

Requirements
Six (6) courses, including two (2) core courses and three (3) electives. One core course and one elective must explore topics outside the United States. Two (2) electives must be at the 300-level. Graduating minors must complete an independent study research project with a significant community engagement component with a faculty member affiliated with the minor program.
