Communication Studies focuses on how people use messages to generate meanings within and across various contexts, cultures, channels, and media. The field promotes the effective and ethical practice of human communication; we cultivate the communication skills necessary to fulfill human potential and contribute to the public well-being.

The minor in communication prepares students for their personal, social, and working lives by developing skills in critical thinking, decision making, and oral presentation.
