CPY 663 - Mindfulness in Counseling and Psychotherapy Credit(s): 1-3 Primary focus of the course is on the development of the “mindful counselor” through a survey of relevant mindfulness literature, principles, and practices. Students participate in an eight week, in-class, experiential mindfulness-based stress reduction workshop designed for therapists. Course also includes an exploration of neuroscience and mindfulness along with a review of the use of mindfulness principles and practices with several clinical issues. This course is highly interactive and requires full engagement in classroom experiential activities and mindfulness practices.
