ACCT 551 - Accounting for Executives


As business activities have become more complex and global, the task of presenting timely, relevant, and reliable financial information to internal and external stakeholders has become more challenging. In this course, students learn how to use key accounting principles to understand and measure business success and to identify and promote value creation. This course enhances students’ ability to read, comprehend, and use financial statements. Students will be able to understand basic value and profitability terms, ethical responsibility in accounting, and learn about measures of value creation that help to make better decisions. The course covers two major areas in accounting: financial accounting and managerial accounting.
