ENG 291 - Magical Realism When a love story filters through the centuries or a man awakens as a giant cockroach (this could happen in Florida); when an owl perches on a window crying sweet warnings or a baron lives his life in the treetops; when a dead baby rises from the grave or the local shopping mall draws us into fairyland – what are we to think? Exploring several works of magical realism, this course offers delightful metaphors, strange dreams, strategies for reading literature, and a whole new way of understanding experience. Prerequisite(s): ENG 140 or equivalent.
