Complete all of the following:
1. Complete a minimum of 140 Credits
A minimum of 70 credits must be completed at Rollins. Rollins approved study abroad credits count toward this minimum.
2. Complete the requirements for at least one major
Students must satisfactorily fulfill the requirements of an established major or the plan of study of a self-designed major. In addition, students must earn a minimum grade point average of 2.00 (‘C’) in the courses approved for the major.
A declaration of major must be filed in the Registrar’s Office prior to registration for the junior year. Students who do not file declarations of major will not be allowed to register for subsequent terms.
Majors are noted on a student’s official academic transcript, but not on the diploma.
3. Honors Seminars (5 courses)
In order to ensure that all honors degree students have a broad exposure to all of the liberal arts, each seminar will fulfill one or more of the four divisional requirements: Arts (A), Humanities (H), Social Sciences (C), and Natural Sciences (S). Students should ensure that in choosing classes, they have met all four divisional requirements at some point before completing their honors research project. One divisional requirement may be taken outside of the honors seminar to replace HON 300 or HON 350S only.
5. Honors in the Major Research/Independent Study
Complete a two-semester honors research project.
HON 498HD and HON 499HD (8 total hours; minimum grade B required)
Note: The honors degree thesis generally also counts for honors in the major, though students may peition the Honors Advisory Board, in agreement with their major advisor, to create an interdisciplinary thesis project.
