Curriculum

Grounded in the liberal arts tradition of critical thinking, problem solving and interdisciplinarity, the Master of Public Health is designed for Rollins graduates to be competitively educated and trained to function as leaders in public health agencies and organizations. This degree can be applicable to many areas of the health industry and social services including for non-profit organizations, local, state and national government agencies and clinical services. The curriculum has been designed to provide a foundation in the five core disciplines of public health (epidemiology, biostatistics, social and behavioral health, environmental health, and health administration and policy) as well as a strong foundation in global health. The MPH graduate program contributes to the Mission of Rollins by empowering graduates to be responsible leaders, have productive careers and meaningful lives.

Students begin the program in the fall term each year and proceed through the course sequence as a cohort. Classes are designed with working professionals in mind, meeting evenings. The program can be completed full-time (2 years) or part-time (3 years). The cohort feature allows for the development of a community of learners who come together and support one another in pursuit of their academic and professional goals. Courses may be offered on weekdays in the evenings. 

Program of Study (15 courses)

Students must complete fifteen (15) courses, including thirteen (13) core courses, one elective, and a 100-hour practicum at a public health organization that helps further their career goals.
