The Graduate Certificate Program in Racial Reconciliation and Community Restoration (RRCR) is designed to provide students with the specialized education and training to understand the individual and institutional sources of racial and cultural discrimination and oppression, as well as the knowledge and practical skills to de-escalate, organize against, and overcome racial and cultural discrimination and oppression with the goals of restoring justice and reconciling Black and Brown communities with the institutions of the state.
The RRCR certificate program is designed to supplement degrees obtained in related fields of study, including humanities, philosophy, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and political science.
This certificate also provides an introduction to the Master of Liberal Studies degree program. A student who completes the Graduate Certificate in Racial Reconciliation and Community Restoration may transfer all 16 credits into the MLS program with the approval of the graduate coordinator. All credits applied to the MLS program must meet program GPA and/or grade requirements and must be within the seven-year program completion limit.
