SOC 295.I1 - Inequality and lntersectionality in “Orange is the New Black” (CRN 10947) Through the Netflix series, “Orange is the New Black,” we will explore inequality sociologically; examining how privilege and oppression operate at the intersections of race, social class, gender, and sexuality within the fictional setting of the total institution of “Litchfield Prison.” We will analyze how the show reflects/deviates from reality.
