Meet the Faculty
Minor Only
The mission of the Africa and African American Studies (AAAS) program at Rollins College is to foster an awareness of the contributions and impact of people of African descent on the western hemisphere and a greater understanding of the complexity linked to the global African Diaspora.

Minor Requirements
Six (6) courses, including two (2) core courses, three (3) electives, (two (2) of which must be at the 300-level) and a senior independent study capstone with a significant community engagement component.
Core Courses (2 courses)
Two courses, one from Group A (non-US topics) and one from Group B.
Elective Courses (3)
Three elective courses, two of which must be at the 300-level or higher. Students must choose one course from Group C, one from Group D, and one from either group.
Independent Study Capstone
Complete a senior independent study capstone project with a significant community engagement component.
